"Never underestimate this project—it was something we fought hard to win away from a foreign company!" Wang Xianhong, Chairman of Sichuan Guozhong Power Equipment Co., Ltd., led the reporter into the production workshop, sharing the company's challenging journey in bidding for and successfully securing an overseas project. Inside the workshop, workers were working overtime to produce the very hydro turbine unit components that had been ordered by their Guatemalan client.

Good things come in pairs. According to Wang Xianhong, at the beginning of 2023, the company also received an order for the maintenance project of the Kartuli Hydropower Station in Georgia. Currently, preparations and production are being expedited, and after the Spring Festival, the company will immediately dispatch its maintenance team overseas.
"Although our company may not be large in scale, we have the confidence to compete. By collaborating with major groups such as the 'Big Five' power companies and China Three Gorges Corporation, we've established a solid reputation. In fact, we hold our own against overseas giants. DeYang boasts a robust foundation in equipment manufacturing, with the entire industry chain of equipment manufacturing concentrated here. This enables us to confidently 'go head-to-head' with international companies," said Wang Xianhong with full confidence.
